Here are the five easy ways to do it:
1. Less Holiday Stress: Stress can cause hormones in your body, such as cortisol to be released. When your cortisol levels remain elevated, it can cause your appetite to increase which will drive you to eat more.
Try this: Be a little easier on yourself. Don't try to do too much. Set priorities. Delegate. Learn how to say NO. Take time for yourself. Goinf for a brisk walk to clear your mind, meditate or do a favorite hobby or activity.
2. The right surroundings: Not everyone is trying focus on maintaining weight loss during the holiday season. Surrounding yourself with people committed to a healthy lifestyle increases your chances of maintaining your weight loss.
Try this:Â Join a fitness class or program and meet other people with the same goals. You can motivate each other. This will not only get you through the holidays but also keep you on track going into the new year.
3. Remember to eat: There are so many things to do during the holidays that sometimes we lose track of time. It can be hard to maintain your weight loss plans if your feeling hunger pangs and cravings.
Try this: Remember to start your day with an energy packed breakfast. Plan for your busy days out by carrying a healthy snack with you. This will help keep you full until you can eat a healthy meal.
4. Remember to keep it movin': If you want to maintain your weight loss you'll need to continue to exercise regularly.
Try this: When time is limited do quick exercises that only take a few minutes. Planning these times into your day is what will make this work. Make exercising a priority for you and if possible recruit a friend to join you.
5. Give yourself a treat: We all have our holiday favorites and you shouldn't need to avoid them. The secret is to plan for these treats and eat them in moderation.
